YWCS launches Anniversary year
In March YWCS is launching a year of celebrations and fundraising to mark its 20th Anniversary.
Our first event is a fun charity quiz night on Thursday 12 March at The Basement, City Screen in York. Up to 60 guests will be pitting their wits against each other to win a case of Prosecco and to raise much needed funds for this vital local service.
In the past three years, 84 women have received the support of face to face counselling for over a thousand hours.
Women have benefited from an average of 15 sessions each, rather than the 6 sessions that are NHS standard, if available at all.
Never has our work been more important. Women should find help when they ask for it, but YWCS cannot meet the current demand for our service, with over 230 requests for counselling in the last financial year alone.
With your support, we can strengthen our service so that more women than ever before who need us, will get help when they need us most, to realise their potential, contribute their talents back into society, and develop confidence to move forward and live more fulfilling lives.
