Hire a Therepy Room
Are you looking for a calm, welcoming space to meet clients, hold a meeting or catch up on work? York Women’s Counselling Service maintains four beautifully appointed therapy rooms in the heart of York, thoughtfully designed to provide a comfortable, professional and discreet environment.
When not in use for our own charitable services, these rooms are available to hire. Every booking directly supports our work, helping us provide affordable counselling and mental health support for women in our community.
Our rooms are ideal for one-to-one, couples and family counselling, and include access to shared facilities, refreshments and a friendly atmosphere. A selection of counselling resources, including a sand tray, books and flip charts, is available for tenants to use, providing additional support for a variety of therapeutic approaches.
Volunteer counsellors benefit from a reduced rental rate, while private practitioners are welcome to hire a room on a monthly contracted basis.
Therepy Room 1
Therepy Room 1 is a light and airy room, well designed for one to one, or couples counselling.
This room contains a number of counselling resources including a sand box, flip chart, and various art and play resourses.
This room also includes a desk and refreshments stand, and so is perfect for therepists seeing multiple clients over longer periods of time. 
Therapy Room 4 is our largest counselling room, making it ideal for family or group therapy sessions, as well as group supervision meetings.
The flexible furniture layout can be arranged as a large round table seating up to six people or as a more relaxed, informal seating area for three to four people around a coffee table.
Located at the end of the building, this room offers additional privacy and is particularly well suited to sessions involving discussion or multiple speakers. Therepy Room 4
Therapy Rooms 2 and 3 are primarily reserved for our volunteer counsellors, but are available to others at our discretion.
These welcoming spaces are ideal for one-to-one counselling, providing a calm and discreet environment for clients. Located in the centre of the building, they are best suited to quiet therapeutic work and confidential conversations.
The rooms also offer a peaceful space for counsellors to complete paperwork, prepare for sessions, read from our well-stocked library of counselling resources or meet privately with a peer or supervisor.Therepy Rooms 2 & 3
